Hi all, I'v been tied up at work this week with school exam invigilating, they give me the problem students; I sit and growl at them. ;D seriiously some of these kids have crap home lives and kick off to attract attention to themselves, I suppose some attention is better than none. I had a quick phone call to Budgie to see if they were starting to spawn on Osprey Lake, "not yet he replied" so off I went. There were a number of Carp on Bare Bank basking and swimming about in the warm water. So I decided to fish peg 8 (last peg before the Humber bank pegs) reasoning they would be mooching around the area come dark. I found some clear spots in the now dense Canadian weed and put about 50 boillies around each clear spot. Night falls At 8-30 am this morning (thinking another blankety blank) my left hand rod signalled a steady take, which resulted in this brute of a common. "25lb 6oz" this fish will be pushing thirty soon!!! With this hot weather it won't be long before the Osprey carp will start to spawn. Regards Rock

Hi Great fish and great pictures Rock, About spawning Carp, I understand some carp spawn was retrieved from Osprey a couple of years ago, did it develope and if so how are the young Carp doing? Skipper, shiver my timbers, hoist the Mizzen, dance the Hornpipe ;D just making you feel at home Skipper Derek took some spawn from the main lake and put it into one of the stock ponds, "as Trigg says they are doing well" they survived the big freeze of 2010-11 and are now about 2-3lbs in weight.
